Exclusive Interview With Yaya Diamond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yaya Diamond.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I was born into a great family of entertainers. My mother is Evelyn Thomas who sings the song “High Energy”. From the moment my mother began taking me on her tours I fell in love with the stage. I traveled the world and witnessed my mother’s career take off and how people loved her and her music and I wanted that, but I also had a curiosity that needed to be satiated. In 2006 I started a podcast called Yaya Diamonds Dream Chasers Radio and I fell in love. Today I sing, record, speak, interview, write, and perform for a living.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

There have been many challenges over the years, but the biggest one was in my mind. I fought, and still find myself fighting today, with myself. “I am not good enough”, “It will never work”, “No one likes me”, and on and on I go down the rabbit hole. This is the biggest thing that holds me captive, my own thoughts. I know they aren’t real, but at times they can seem so large. How do I overcome these thoughts? I look at my progress and it says to these thoughts “You liar! I am good enough, I am working, I am loved, I give love, and I am doing the dag on thang!” I truly believe I am my own challenge, but I will prevail.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I have a podcast, a TV show on Roku, Amazon Fire, Comcast, Youtube, and all major social media platforms. I am also an author, international Recording Artist, songwriter, and entertainer who has just been nominated for the Florida Music Hall of Fame. The great Maya Angelou stated “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I love what I do, I love my guests and am genuinely interested in their journey, life, career, and what’s going on in their lives. I want them to know I am cheering them on and am excited and happy for their success.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Success is a journey. Most people don’t begin the journey due to many things but the journey will never stop calling you. It may have different stops but the destination is the same. Feel the journey, begin the journey, and be the journey. If we were to think of this journey as a seed that needs to grow roots first, where praise is absent, and then sprout and grow into it’s full potential, would you not begin the journey? I don’t think there is one person that would say no to this, so success is like that seed, it needs water, sunlight, and periodically it needs fertilizer to grow.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Movement. Success has a different meaning to everyone. It may mean a lot of money, fame, property, business, family, etc. To me it’s movement. Success is always being mobile and willing to be flexible and recreate me. I strive to grow and mature using what I have learned so I can become a better me. Success to me is growth in my movement and learning who I am and where I am going from point to point. Success can’t be tricked or tampered with because it is something one owns from within, I am successful is a statement of self-proclamation. Popularity can be tampered with because it is a thing that can be manipulated by an outside source, but success is something within that can’t be stolen or changed. Success is something you can define for yourself and I am very successful.

What’s next for you?

I have begun another leg of Yaya Diamond. I have my own fragrance line now. One Mens cologne called “Refresh” and two female perfumes called “Sexy” and “Flowers” which can be purchased at: I have just finished my first documentary which is now up on my youtube channel entitled “The Loft Pigeon” about racing pigeons. My next major TV project is called “New to You”. It’s a show I will begin airing in 2022 where I feature new music and introduce fans to up-and-coming recording artists. I am working on my solo music project now and just released a remake of The Beatles song “Come Together”.
